NGC 3309

NGC 3309是一個位於長蛇座的巨型橢圓星系，距離地球2億光年，1835年3月24日由約翰·赫歇爾發現^{[2][3][4][5][6]}。NGC 3309與NGC 3311（英語：NGC 3311）形成一對星系^[7]，相互之間的距離為72,000 ly（22 kpc）^[8]。這兩個星系是長蛇座星系團的中心^[7][9]。
